Surveys give users a voluntary way to earn a reward for answering research questions. Whether a particular user sees or qualifies for a survey depends on the research partner's targeting and available inventory. A publisher should plan for screen-outs, delayed confirmations, and support questions as well as successful completions.
ClixWall survey visibility depends on enabled features as well as available partner inventory. Confirm availability before designing a survey-led placement. The publisher overview explains how surveys fit alongside other offer formats.
How a survey reaches your users
A user opens the Wall, chooses an available survey, and answers the research partner's screening questions. If they qualify and complete the survey, the partner confirms the event. ClixWall records the result and can send your configured publisher postback so your system credits the user.
A user who is screened out may not receive the advertised completion reward. Explain that eligibility depends on the survey and do not show a confirmed reward in your own app until your server processes a confirmed event. Follow the integration guide to set up the Wall and postback.
Make qualification and screen-outs understandable
- Show the time estimate and reward supplied with the survey, without promising every user will qualify.
- Keep the offer voluntary. Let users return to the rest of your app after a screen-out.
- Give a clear support path for a survey that appears completed but has no confirmed reward.
- Ask users for profile information only when it is needed, explain its purpose, and handle it under your privacy policy.
- Do not invent a "high chance of qualifying" label unless a research partner actually provides a supported estimate.
Some partners may offer screen-out compensation and others may not. Do not promise it unless the specific survey terms say so.
Measure your own survey yield
Use a consistent denominator. For example, if 1,000 Wall opens display survey offers and the confirmed publisher payout from those visits totals $10, the observed yield is $10 per 1,000 Wall opens. If you instead divide by survey starts, label that denominator explicitly. Neither figure is a universal survey eCPM benchmark.
Track at least:
| Metric | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Available surveys by country | Inventory can vary by user and market. |
| Survey starts | Shows whether users choose the offers presented. |
| Confirmed completions | Counts rewards you can credit. |
| Screen-outs and support requests | Shows friction before completion. |
| Publisher earnings | Lets you compare yield with other offer formats. |
Compare cohorts over the same period. A change in partner inventory or geography can alter yield even if the Wall placement stays the same.
Integration and reward handling
Use the same iframe or WebView integration as the rest of the Wall. Keep the user identifier stable. Configure a publisher postback and handle its transaction ID and status so duplicate callbacks do not credit twice and reversals adjust the correct account.
Standard offer callbacks and some survey-provider callbacks use different HTTP methods. The postback guide explains how to accept both. Test the callback from your dashboard and check the user's ledger rather than treating an HTTP 200 response as proof that a reward was applied.
Improve the experience with evidence
Start with clear offer placement and an honest explanation of qualification. Watch starts, confirmed completions, screen-outs, and support tickets before adding more prompts. If you change how demographic questions appear, compare the same user markets before and after; do not collect extra personal data only to chase a higher payout.
